FIRST ITALIAN EDITION, translated from the 1547 Spanish first edition by Alfonso D\'Ulloa. The dialogues deal with astronomical topics, gastronomy, and medicine. Mexia was was among the first scientific minds of the Renaissance to write for a popular audience. He describes Magellan\'s first circumnavigation of the earth — Mexia himself witnessed Magellan\'s fleet leaving Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1519 and returning in 1522. Brunet III, 1689 (1547 edition).
