Die Ausbildung der Pferde ist offensichtlich unumgänglich. Ist die äußere Form zart und zierlich, so verwischt ein spielerisches Element den Versuch, die Natur zu bezwingen. Das Hippodrom ist so unschuldig wie das Vergnügen selbst, das heißt, überhaupt nicht.

2 parts in 1 volume. 4to (224 x 188 mm). Woodcut printer\'s devices to both title pages and verso of final leaf, numerous woodcut illustrations and diagrams in text. Modern calf antique, decorated in blind, gilt titles on spine. Erased ownership stamp and paper repair on first title, lacking blank at end of first volume, browning throughout, especially to first few leaves, a few rust holes.

Second edition, containing De restitutione motuum Solis Lunae, Staellarumque innerarrantium and De mundi aetherei recentioribus Phaenomensis. The woodcuts include illustrations of astronomical instruments. Graesse I, 518; Houzeau Lancaster 2704; Poggendorff I, 273.
