-The maiden embracing the unicorn is an allegory of purity or chastity. Unseizable animal could be tamed by a virgin only: the animal became meek at her sight and laid its head in her lap where the hunters could easily capture it. The church fathers equated the unicorn with Christ and the maiden with Mary. The story thus received a Christian interpretation: it referred to the Saviour, incarnated in the womb of the virgin and captured by his earthly pursuers. The horn became a symbol of divine strength, the unity with the Father and the all-penetrating Word of God. A great number of illustrations of this popular medieval subject survive. In them, the maiden or the Virgin Mary herself often appears in a closed garden symbolic of virginity.

角兽玫瑰-Unicorn And A Rose

-There is a legend
whispered on moonlit nights
by romantic garden sprites
of a beautiful unicorn
with roses growing from her mane
and a perfect rose
blooming in the blush of the moon
and when the unicorn and rose touch
their spirits connect with
such inner beauty and light
they radiate the colors
of love in full bloom.

Unicorn And A Rose prose by Carol Cavalaris

This fantasy artwork of a unicorn and a rose, in romantic shades of creamy white, pink, and green, their spirits touching and reflecting inner beauty, light, and love. Inspired by the beautiful Pashmina roses growing in Brigitte\'s garden in France, and the love she has for her roses as well as unicorns. From Brigitte\'s Roses as well as Fantasy Collections of art by Carol Cavalaris.

-The Lady and the Unicorn is the modern title given to a series of six tapestries created in the style of mille-fleurs (meaning: \"thousand flowers\") and woven in Flanders from wool and silk, from designs (\"cartoons\") drawn in Paris around 1500.
The lady stands, making a wreath of flowers. Her maidservant holds a basket of flowers within her easy reach. Again, the lion and unicorn frame the lady while holding on to the pennants. The monkey has stolen a flower which he is smelling, providing the key to the allegory.

-The Lady and the Unicorn is the modern title given to a series of six tapestries created in the style of mille-fleurs (meaning: \"thousand flowers\") and woven in Flanders from wool and silk, from designs (\"cartoons\") drawn in Paris around 1500.
The lady plays a portative organ on top of a table covered with an Oriental rug. Her maidservant stands to the opposite side and operates the bellows. The lion and unicorn once again frame the scene holding up the pennants. Just as on all the other tapestries, the unicorn is to the lady\'s left and the lion to her right - a common denominator to all the tapestries.
