This artwork of a peach and lavender rose in a cloud ocean of matching colors, is a tribute to the memory and creative life of my beloved Aunt Athena, a grand inspiration and even grander lady. Athena outlived a brother, two sisters, and four husbands. Her last husband was an opera singer and she loved the song, Time To Say Goodbye, made famous by Andrea Bocelli. The rose in this artwork is named Bottecelli, and comes from another passionate and spiritual woman who lives in France. This artwork of a delicate and romantic rose bud in pastel shades of pink and green, sprinkled with raindrops and surrounded by floating musical notes, features a rose named Elvis. I was and still am a big fan of Elvis Presley and his music. When my husband, LJ, and I first met (he was a singer/songwriter) we went to a New Years Eve party where he surprised me by singing one of my favorite Elvis songs. LJ sounded very much like Elvis, and I immediately fell in love with his voice and the rest of him later. :o) So it was very special to create this Elvis rose with notes.
